Cookie Policy
Last Updated: October 1, 2026
At Weeny, we believe in privacy-first link management. This means we use as few cookies as possible to provide our services and protect your data.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device that help websites remember information about your visit. They can be "session" cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent" cookies (which remain on your device for a set period).
2. How we use cookies
We use cookies for three main reasons:
- Essential: To keep you logged in and ensure our website works correctly.
- Security & Payments: To prevent fraud and process payments securely via Stripe.
- Product Improvement: To understand how people use Weeny so we can make it better (using PostHog).
3. The Cookies we use
We keep it simple. Here is a summary:
| Category | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | Weeny | Keeping you signed into your account. | Session |
| Security / Payments | Stripe | Fraud prevention and secure payment processing. | 1-2 years |
| Analytics | PostHog | Helping us understand which features are most used. | Up to 1 year |
| Analytics | DataFast | Lightweight site analytics on weeny.app. | Up to 1 year |
4. Privacy-First Link Analytics
Important: When someone clicks a Weeny short link, we do not drop a cookie on their device. We use privacy-first tracking methods that respect the privacy of the end-user (the person clicking the link) by processing data like country and device type without cross-site tracking.
5. Third-party Cookies
We do not use advertising cookies or ad-network tracking pixels (like Facebook or Google Ads) to follow you around the web. We do use PostHog and DataFast for product/site analytics on weeny.app, as listed above, subject to your cookie preferences where applicable.
6. How to manage cookies
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. However, if you disable all cookies, some parts of Weeny (like staying logged in) will not work correctly.
7. Contact
If you have questions about our cookie usage, drop us a line at hello@weeny.app.
